Much Needed Update with Pics

I'm so behind and out of the loop since returning from Mexico so here's a much needed update and pictures of my trip, recent layouts, and anything else I wanna throw in this post ;)

I went to La Villa to go to Mass and see all the pretty Christmas decorations in downtown D.F. This is the front of the church.

I love this picture. There's a softness to it that just catches my eye. I love taking pics in Twilight!!!

This is that same Christmas tree but from the inside of the church looking out. People were leaving Mass at the time I took the picture.

This Guadalupe light image is displayed in front of the main gates of the church. It's so beautiful and it's the first thing you see when you're walking toward the church from the lower parking deck.

This display in front of the alter is of the Three Kings presenting Jesus with their gifts. These three are who brings the children their gifts on the morning of January 6th.

We are currently having a Tango with Scrapdango Online Crop at Dango. I am hosting two challenges for the crop. This first layout, just lovely, is for my "Shorty Got Low, Low, Low, Low" Challenge requiring you to make a negative space layout with your picture at the right corner of your page. I kept this page girlie using soft colors like pink, teal and mint green and added a little flirt by adding a pink chipboard birdie with heart wing and felt buttons and flourishes.

10 Reasons I Love You is my example layout for my "Across the Border" Challenge in the Tango with Dango Crop. For this challenge, your layout must have border strips. In my layout, I used a die cut border strip followed by a stitched ribbon border strip followed by a patterned paper border strip that I fringed and rolled. The "love" journal box is a mixture of rub-ons and hand-drawn lines. The "love" title came in a rub-on pack along with the hearts and "I Love You" wording in the title. The torn paper edge is Jenni Bowlin as well as the "Name and Numbering" grid on the right side. I hand-drew the right side of the grid so I would have more room for journaling my reasons. I kept embellishments few and simple since your eye is busy enough with the stitching, journal box and paper rolling.

I have some more new layouts that I have made for various Tango Challenges but will post them later.

Also, the Groovy Gals are hosting a Birthday Bash Blog Hop with loads of challenges and prizes on various Groovy Gals blogs. I had intentions on participating in this Hop but my Mexico trip hindered my participation so please accept my apologies for not hosting a challenge myself.

I have to get ready for work soon so Happy Monday and I will post again soon. Promise ;)
